We have three classes in this year group. The Year 4 teaching staff team is: Mrs Gotch, Mr Singh and Mr Rankin.
This year the classes have all been named after local landmarks / places of interest, we are: Fineshade Class, Deene Class and Harrington Class.
We are going to be studying and exploring 4 exciting topics this academic year. These are:
Topics will be explored through all areas of the curriculum. We will be exploring the digestive system of the human body and creating intestines with tights! An Anglo-Saxon Day will help us learn about their life and we will design and make weapons similar to those used. A visit to the Sea Life Centre will enhance our learning about sea creatures and creating a mini-theatre will help us to develop our skills in Art and D&T.
We have an exciting year ahead and can’t wait to share learning experiences with the children and join them as they continue their journey through Key Stage Two. We are privileged to be able to watch them grow in confidence and flourish within themselves.
Throughout the year, parents will be invited to share their children's achievements in class, join in with the children’s experiences and come on school trips and local visits if they are able to volunteer some time.
We use a range of rewards throughout Year 4 from stickers, star of the day, pupil of the week, effort marks and the Principal’s award, which is presented each half term. We use School Comms and Class Dojo to communicate with parents. Children’s success are recorded in their Success Passport.
