Absence Reporting

To report your child’s absence call the school on 01536 204765 and select option 5 for our absence reporting line, leaving your child's name, class and reason for absence.

To ensure children’s safety, and help us meet Government guidelines, parents are required to contact the school before 8.45 am on the first day of your child's absence to inform us of their absence from school.

Parent/carers are required to call in to inform us about any children absent for any reason.

If the school is not contacted, a call home will be made to ensure all children are accounted for.  If school cannot make contact with any of the people on the contact list, a home visit will be made.

If your child is off school for more than one day, please be aware we require you to notify us of your child's absence each day they are off.

If your child is absence from school for more than 5 days and you are unable to provide medical evidence, (medical evidence can be a Doctors appointment, prescribed medicine or evidence of a call log), we may refer to the Local Authorities unauthorised absence procedures, which may result in a fine.

Pre-planned Absence

The school should be informed of any pre-planned absences e.g. medical appointments. This can be done via a paper form which can be accessed via the school office, or using our online form which can be found HERE.  We ask that medical appointments are made out of school hours wherever possible. Other forms of term time absence will only be granted in exceptional circumstances.
